Referee abandons Longford/Shels game
Longford Town 0 Shelbourne 0
Cork referee Alan Kelly abandoned this game after 59 minutes due to a waterlogged pitch as the game turned into a farce.
New cup holders Town had marginally the better of a first half already ruined by the difficult conditions of driving wind and rain.
Shels' Thomas Morgan almost sliced a Shane Barrett cross into his own net on 16 minutes while Alan Kirby was narrowly wide with a 35-yard free kick.
In between, topscorer Jason Byrne missed Shels best chance when heading wide from a David Crawley cross.
