Newcastle without Solano against Fulham

Newcastle were without Nolberto Solano for tonight’s Premiership clash with Fulham at Loftus Road.

The Peruvian midfielder was left in the north-east after a bust-up with manager Sir Bobby Robson when he stormed away from the Riverside Stadium after being dropped for the Tyne-Tees derby on Saturday.

Craig Bellamy’s departure to the USA for his sixth knee operation ensured Shola Ameobi started up front alongside Alan Shearer.

For Chris Coleman’s hosts, youngster Malik Buari made his full league debut.
