Kelly chosen to referee FAI Cup final

Cork referee Alan Kelly has been nominated to take charge of the FAI Carlsberg Cup final between Longford Town and St Patrick’s Athletic at Lansdowne Road on Sunday, October 26, 2003 (ko 3pm).

Cork referee Alan Kelly has been nominated to take charge of the FAI Carlsberg Cup final between Longford Town and St Patrick’s Athletic at Lansdowne Road on Sunday, October 26, 2003 (ko 3pm).

Kelly will have as his assistants Eddie Foley and Barry McDonnell.

The Fourth Official will be Paul Tuite.

Foley is a former World Cup and Euro 2000 Referees Assistant.

This will be the first time for Kelly to referee the FAI Cup final.

He has been a referee since 1994 and has been on the eircom League panel since 1998.

He was elevated to FIFA international referee status in January 2002 and has taken charge of the Uefa Under-17 semi-final between France and Spain.
