Derry settle for draw against Drogheda
Derry City 0 Drogheda United 0
Drogheda defender Pat Scully was sent off for the second time in a fortnight as new Derry boss Gavin Dykes had to settle for a point from this drab match.
Scully was shown a second yellow card for a foul on young substitute Mark Farren three minutes into stoppage time.
Derry had the best opening of the first half after just two minutes when Drogheda keeper Gary Rogers turned Michael Holt's stinging volley round a post.
Drogheda didn't threaten until the 54th minute when keeper Alan Gough smothered Don Tierney's shot.
Rogers then had to tip away a Gareth McGlynn header minutes later as Derry responded, but Drogheda held out for a precious point.
