Sociedad impress against Galatasaray

Real Sociedad moved level on points with Juventus at the top of Group D after an impressive 2-1 victory over Galatasaray in Istanbul.

Turkish international Nihat Kahveci set up strike partner Darko Kovacevic for the opener after just three minutes before Gala levelled on the hour thanks to Hakan Sukur.

It all went sour for the hosts when Valeri Karpin’s corner was headed home by Xabi Alonso in the second half and Hasan Sas was sent off for the Turks eight minutes from time.
