Win puts Cork third in table

Goals from Kevin Murray and George O'Callaghan made Turner's Cross an unhappy home from home for Rovers as City made it two wins on the spin to move up to third in the table.

After a tight first half, the game turned sour for Rovers on 56 minutes when right-back Trevor Croly was sent off for a foul on City dangerman Kevin Doyle, his second booking.

Eleven minutes later midfielder Murray put City in front when scoring with a diving header from O'Callaghan's free kick.

O'Callaghan then sealed the win five minutes later when he ran through onto Greg O'Halloran's header to blast past Barry Ryan.
