Dermot Keely has resigned as manager of Derry City after his side went down last night to bottom-of-the-table UCD in the eircom League Premier Division.

Goals from Alan Gallen and John Martin saw the Students climb to within two points of the Candystripes.

Keely resigned immediately after the game, and his right-hand man, Gavin Dykes, who spent two seasons as a player at Derry City, takes over.
