Shels go clear at the top

Jason Byrne scored for the sixth match running as Shels went five points clear at the top of the table.

Byrne broke the deadlock ten minutes into the second half when firing home after Wes Hoolahan played him through.

Byrne twice came close for Shels in the first half but it his was namesake Stuart who headed just wide a minute before the break.

Gary Cronin, one of four changes in the Drogheda team, was narrowly off target in the first half.
