Celtic manager Martin O’Neill will persevere with goalkeeper Magnus Hedman after Rob Douglas was ruled out of the Bank of Scotland Premier League visit of Motherwell.

Celtic manager Martin O’Neill will persevere with goalkeeper Magnus Hedman after Rob Douglas was ruled out of the Bank of Scotland Premier League visit of Motherwell.

Hedman admitted to his fault with Bayern Munich’s winner in the Champions League tie on Wednesday when he misjudged a Roy Makaay cross.

But a back and side strain has left Douglas on the sidelines for the game at Parkhead.

However, wing-back Didier Agathe will miss the game through suspension after his dismissal at Dundee last week.

Striker Chris Sutton will return from his five-match domestic game ban but long-term casualties Paul Lambert, Johan Mjallby, Ulrik Laursen, Stephen Crainey and Steve Guppy remain on the sidelines.

Provisional squad: Hedman, Balde, Larsson, Thompson, Hartson, Sylla, Lennon, Petrov, Miller, Varga, Marshall, Sutton, McNamara, Smith, Maloney, Beattie, Kennedy, Gray, Valgaeren, Petta.
