Gary Breen expected to miss Swiss qualifier

Sunderland defender Gary Breen has emerged as a major doubt for Ireland’s crucial Euro 2004 qualifier against Switzerland in Basle on October 11.

Breen is expected to be out of action for up to a month after picking up a groin injury while playing for Sunderland on Tuesday.
