Pardew to take over at Hammers
Reading manager Alan Pardew will take over as manager of West Ham United from October 18, it was announced at the High Court today.
Pardew was the Hammer’s first-choice replacement for Glenn Roeder but Reading had refused to let him speak to the Upton Park club.
When he was prevented from talking to West Ham Pardew quit his post at the Madejski Stadium but the club refused to accept his resignation.
Reading went to the High Court for an injunction to prevent Pardew taking over at the east London club.
Pardew’s assistant Kevin Dillon has been made caretaker-manager and celebrated his first win this week after the Royals came from behind to beat Cardiff 2-1.
