Longford Tn seal FAI Cup passage

Longford Town 3, Waterford United 1

Sean Francis scored twice as Longford booked their passage safely through to the FAI Cup semi-finals.

Town had the dream start with the lead goal after just two minutes.

Blues keeper Dan Connor failed to gather a cross in from the right by Alan Kirby and Brian Byrne laid the ball off for Francis to shoot home.

But Blues got right back into the match two minutes into the second half when Neale Fenn fired home from Alan Reilly's free kick, his first goal for the club.

Brian McGovern headed Town back in front on 55 minutes before Francis sealed it five minutes from time.
