Duo given Celtic chance

Dani and Ivan de la Pena trained with Celtic today as Martin O’Neill attempts to boost his squad for the Champions League.

Dani has been looking for a club after his contract with Atletico Madrid expired and de la Pena is in a similar situation after being released by Lazio.

They will remain at Parkhead for the next two days to train with O’Neill’s squad.

O’Neill is keen to increase his squad before they open their Champions League campaign against Bayern Munich in Germany next week having signed only Sunderland full-back Michael Gray – on a four-month loan – this summer.
