Cork salvage point in nightmare game
UCD 1 Cork City 1
Kevin Doyle salvaged a point for luckless Cork who lost striker John O'Flynn to injury and had Derek Coughlan sent off.
A bad day at the office for Cork began with the loss of topscorer O'Flynn with what appears to be a bad knee injury after just four minutes.
UCD striker Mark Rooney was a real threat to City from the start and he gave them the lead on 19 minutes.
Played clean through on goal from Patrick Sullivan's precise pass, Rooney kept his head to slide the ball past Michael Devine.
City's nightmare continued as they had Derek Coughlan sent off for a blatant trip on Rooney on 32 minutes.
But City responded from the resumption and levelled on 51 minutes when Doyle punished a poor back pass to shoot past Austin O'Neill.
