Everton sign Kevin Kilbane

Everton have beaten the transfer deadline to snap up Irish midfielder Kevin Kilbane this evening.

Kilbane joins Everton from Mick McCarthy's Sunderland.

Everton have made several signings today, including Francis Jeffers on loan from Arsenal and highly rated striker James McFadden from Motherwell.

Moyes also secured cover at the other end of the pitch by signing former England goalkeeper Nigel Martyn from Leeds on a two-year contract for a nominal fee, although he saw Mark Pembridge depart for Fulham.
