Longford had goalkeeper Stephen O'Brien sent off but held out for a point at the Brandywell.

O'Brien was shown a straight red card by referee Declan Hanney for a professional foul on Michael Holt outside his area on 65 minutes.

Town took the lead totally against the run of play on 29 minutes when Philip Keogh skipped past Peter Hutton to cross for Sean Francis to sidefoot home.

That lead lasted just two minutes, though, as Alan Murphy's headed clearance from Holt's cross fell kindly for Gary Beckett who shoot past O'Brien.
