Premiership runners-up Arsenal face Middlesbrough away today and manager Arsene Wenger has admitted he does not underestimate Steve McClaren's side.

He said: “I feel that last year Middlesbrough were very stable defensively but, away from home, they had problems scoring goals.

“It seemed that they had a problem in keeping the ball and being dangerous. It looks like Steve McClaren has worked to improve on that and has given them the part they missed.

“He [McClaren] has very good experience. He was at a big club in Manchester United and he also has international experience after working with the England national team.

“He has had two or three years on his own and has had time to mature. To me, what he has shown is very positive.

“Now the expectations become higher, but I think he has the quality to deliver.”
