Scholes gives Man Utd the lead

Manchester United have come from a goal down to take the lead against Newcastle at St James's Park.

Paul Scholes scored his second league goal of the season, and his team's second, after chesting a Roy Keane ball into the net.

Ruud van Nistelrooy has levelled matters eight minutes earlier after getting around Titus Bramble in the box to score the equaliser.

Newcastle captain Alan Shearer scored his third goal of the new Premiership season to give his side the lead in the 26th minute.

The former England skipper got on the end of a free-kick from Lauren Robert taken just outside the area and headed home past new United recruit Tim Howard.
