Van Nistelrooy levels things at St James's

Ruud van Nistelrooy has levelled matters between Manchester United and Newcastle at St James's Park.

The Dutch striker got around Titus Bramble in the box to score the equaliser in the 51st minute.

Newcastle captain Alan Shearer scored his third goal of the new Premiership season to give his side the lead in the 26th minute.

The former England skipper got on the end of a free-kick from Lauren Robert taken just outside the area and headed home past new United recruit Tim Howard.
