Leeds star Johnson arrested
Leeds midfielder Seth Johnson was arrested today on suspicion of drink-driving, the club said.
Johnson, 24, is believed to have been stopped by police in the early hours on the M62 motorway near Bradford, West Yorkshire.
In a short statement issued on their website, Leeds confirmed the player’s arrest and manager Peter Reid said: “The matter will be dealt with internally”.
It said the club would be making no further comment.
A spokeswoman for West Yorkshire Police said: “A 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of being over the prescribed limit after he was stopped on the M62 Chain Bar Roundabout shortly after midnight today. He will be questioned by police later.”
Johnson, who lives in the Wetherby area of West Yorkshire, was signed by Leeds from Derby in 2001.
