Campbell fitness in the balance

Sol Campbell was today facing a fitness test as Sven-Goran Eriksson wrestled with his central defensive options ahead of England’s friendly against Croatia.

Campbell was one of five players to miss yesterday’s initial England training session of the new season, with Owen Hargreaves sent back to Bayern Munich for further treatment on a groin injury.
