Celtic v Dundee Utd
Celtic kicked off the new season in disappointing style with a goalless draw at Dunfermline and were looking to make home advantage count against Dundee United.
The other disappointing aspect of that game was defender Johan Mjallby picking up an injury on the same knee which kept him sidelined for three months last term.
He missed the 4-0 win over MTK Hungaria and was sidelined again.
Also missing was Chris Sutton. The striker grabbed a superb goal against MTK in midweek, but his five-match league ban meant he was back in the stand for the visit of Ian McCall's side.
Manager Martin O'Neill opted to make several changes ahead of this game and Magnus Hedman replaced usual first choice goalkeeper Rob Douglas between the sticks, while Jackie McNamara, Liam Miller and Shaun Maloney were handed starting places
United boss McCall also had suspension worries to cope with ahead of the trip to Parkhead.
Barry Robson's red card during last week's defeat against Hibernian last week earned him a ban and he was replaced in the starting line-up by Scotland under-21 international David McCracken.
