Longford extend unbeaten run

Longford Town 1 Waterford United 0

Longford Town 1 Waterford United 0

Sean Francis was Longford's supersub as the midlanders stretched their unbeaten run to seven matches to move up to fourth place in the table.

Francis, on the pitch seven minutes for Brian Byrne, tapped home after a great run and cross by Shane Barrett to finally spark this match into life on 69 minutes.

The goal was no more than Town deserved as they ran the match from start to finish.

Barrett might have added a second goal for Town in stoppage time when put through on goal by Sean Prunty, but Blues keeper Dan Connor made a fine save with his feet.
