Blues move in for Hammers' Cole

Chelsea tonight moved closer to their fifth major signing since the arrival of new owner Roman Abramovich when they agreed a £6.6m (€9.3m) fee for England and West Ham midfielder Joe Cole.

The 21-year-old looks set to follow former Hammers team-mate Glen Johnson from Upton Park to Stamford Bridge, subject to passing a medical and agreeing personal terms.
