Munich agree deal for Makaay

Bayern Munich’s summer-long hunt to sign Roy Makaay came to an end last night after the German giants agreed a deal with Deportivo La Coruna.

Bayern Munich’s summer-long hunt to sign Roy Makaay came to an end last night after the German giants agreed a deal with Deportivo La Coruna.

Just 24 hours after Deportivo issued a statement saying that had received no official bid from Bayern for the Dutchman, the German champions made a verbal offer to Depor president Augusto Cesar Lendoiro, which was accepted.

All that remains is for Bayern to put their offer in writing and the player should be theirs.

Lendoiro believes the move could be completed within the next 24 hours.

“It seems there is no problem for the player to leave in the next few days, perhaps even tomorrow, and pass the medical,” he said on the club’s official website, www.canaldeportivo.com.
