Spurs plan tough medical for Kanoute

Tottenham are putting Freddie Kanoute through the most rigorous of medical examinations to ensure he has suffered no lasting effects from the groin injury which kept him out of action for four months last season.

Spurs are ready to pay £3.5m (€4.9m) for the West Ham striker and have already allowed £1m (€1.4m)-rated winger Matthew Etherington to agree terms for a switch to Upton Park as part of the deal.
