FA's Fash probe goes on

The Football Association will continue their enquiries into the activities of John Fashanu after the News of the World reported fresh claims of match-fixing involving the former Wimbledon striker.

Fashanu has been accused of approaching former Chelsea goalkeeper Mark Bosnich to throw an all-stars match in Dubai.

Fashanu is also said to have made other allegations of corruption in the game in taped conversations with an undercover reporter.

A spokesman for the FA said: “Since these allegations came to light a week ago, the Football Association have initiated enquiries into this matter and on the back of today’s reports those enquiries will continue in the coming days and weeks.”

Fashanu has denied all claims of match-fixing and has insisted he was the victim of a “sting”.
