Kahn relishes challenges ahead

Oliver Kahn is feeling much more positive about the new Bundesliga season now than he did this time last year.

Looking to recover from Germany‘s World Cup final loss to Brazil and a rare trophy-less season with Bayern Munich, Kahn had the weight of the world on his shoulders 12 months ago.

But a successful Bundesliga campaign this last season combined with victory in the German Cup means the goalkeeper is currently full of the joys of summer.

“In contrast to last year I am looking forward to playing in the league again,” he said.

Bayern will kick off the defence of their German title against Eintracht Frankfurt in two week‘s time and Kahn says the squad is already itching for the season to begin.

“There are less and less jokes,” he said in Kicker.

“I will not be deceived. Our team have to prove first that we are able to play at the top level in every competition.

“Top teams are able to play for the title in all competitions. There are no priorities for us.”
