Substitute Robbie Doyle put Bohs safely through to the FAI Cup third round with a second-half brace of goals.

On the pitch just two minutes, Doyle followed up after Dundalk keeper Neil Gallagher could only parry away a Glen Crowe header from Stephen Caffrey's cross to tap in the opener on 65 minutes.

The second goal arrived two minutes from time when Dundalk failed to clear a Fergal Harkin corner and Doyle volleyed home from close range.

Dundalk started well with Shay Kelly forced into early saves from Garry Haylock and Chris Lawless.

Bohs finished the first half strongly and Thomas Heary wasted a glorious chance when heading over four minutes before the break.
