Murphy the hero for Galway Utd

Alan Murphy scored twice either side of half time to end LSL Division 1 side Loughshinny's cup dream at Balbriggan.

The Co Dublin side defended well until the 34th minute when they failed to clear a corner and John Russell pulled the ball back for Murphy to drill home from 15 yards.

Murphy scored again 10 minutes into the second half from a dubiously awarded free-kick.

Loughshinny goalkeeper Tony Carton got a hand to Murphy's shot but couldn't keep it out as it went in off the crossbar.
