Davy Byrne hit an 89th minute winner as St Pat's resilience beat a footballing Rovers in a thriller at Richmond Park.

Darragh Maguire headed St Pat's in front on 18 minutes before Rovers deservedly levelled through Tony Grant four minutes before the break.

A mistake by Alan Reynolds allowed St Pat's regain the lead through Tony Bird on 52 minutes.

Once again Rovers hit back to level when Trevor Molloy headed home James Keddy's cross six minutes later.

But with just a minute remaining Keith Fahy put Substitute Byrne through on goal and the midfielder's mis-hit shot had enough power to trickle into the far corner of the net.
