Chelsea triumph as Duff makes debut

Chelsea withstood a wholehearted effort from the Malaysian national team before booking a meeting with Newcastle in Sunday's FA Premier League Asia Cup final with a flurry of late goals.

Frank Lampard opened the scoring in the first half before super-subs Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, Eidur Gudjonssen and Glen Johnson sealed an emphatic win.

But for 70 minutes the Londoners were given a tricky test by the hosts, revelling in the opportunity to play against their Premiership heroes.

The biggest cheer of the night came four minutes after Lampard's strike, when Malaysian defender Hairuddin Omar emerged at the back post to head home the equaliser.

But Chelsea introduced the big guns with 25 minutes remaining and first Hasselbaink struck from 30 yards, then debutant Damien Duff made space and picked out Gudjonssen in the box.

Hasselbaink then found Johnson, who had come on as a first-half replacement for the injured Robert Hoth, at the far post and the new-boy finished off the scoring with a header.
