Killie complete Invincibile signing
Kilmarnock have completed the signing of striker Danny Invincibile after overcoming a “slight stumbling block” in negotiations.
The Rugby Park club were expected to unveil the 24-year-old earlier this morning but were forced to abandon those plans as the deal struck a hitch.
But, after further negotiations, the former Swindon man has now completed a one-year deal with Jim Jefferies’ side.
Killie managing director David Mackinnon said: “It has been protracted and has only been agreed in the last 10 minutes.
“We thought we had hit a slight stumbling block with other clubs interested but we have managed to conclude the deal to everyone’s satisfaction.
“Jim Jefferies, the board and myself are delighted to get him signed because he is a huge prospect.
“Danny has ambitions to get into the Australian squad and this is also a great platform for him as well as the club.
“There were certain terms which were ironed out. But Danny wanted to come to the club and, if both parties want to come to agreement, it is very easy to find a solution which we did.”
Invincibile will now join the club on a pre-season tour in the north of England.
The Australian will join Colin Nish and Martin Hardie as newcomers to Rugby Park for next season.
