Italy striker Francesco Totti has confirmed he wants to extend his contract with Roma.

Speaking during the club‘s pre-season training trip to the Austrian city of Irdning, he revealed he was happy to negotiate a reduction in wages in order to extend his stay with the Giallorossi.

He said: “I am talking to the club regarding the wage-cut package and I could even extend my contract for a further two to three years.”

The Roma captain has ruled out a move away from the club where he remains under contract until June 2006 despite reported interest from other outfits.

Serie A giants AC Milan and Inter Milan are said to be monitoring Totti’s position, as are Real Madrid.
