Javier Sanchez Broto’s Celtic career appears to be over after the Hoops jetted off to Sweden without him.

Javier Sanchez Broto’s Celtic career appears to be over after the Hoops jetted off to Sweden without him.

The out-of-contract goalkeeper, who was first choice at the end of last season, had turned down the offer of a two-year deal.

But instead of receiving an improved offer, the Spaniard has now been told he can look elsewhere and he is now back in is homeland

Broto said: “At the moment I don’t feel very good at all. I don’t know if there is any chance of going back to Celtic now.”

Broto had been signed from Livingston last season as cover for Robert Douglas and Magnus Hedman.

Both goalkeepers were hit by injuries and Broto impressed in the nine games he played in.

First Division Ipswich have expressed an interest in Broto but Hearts, who are looking for a number one, already fear his wage demands will put him out of their price range.
