Waterford moved back up to third in the table with another well earned win.

Blues hit the front against the run of play on 37 minutes.

Gary O'Neill raced through the Drogheda defence from David Breen's quick free kick to strike a shot off a post and Daryl Murphy was on hand to slide the loose ball home.

Willie Byrne added a second goal with a cool finish for a defender as he latched onto Kevin Waters free kick on 66 minutes.

Darren Beesley gave Drogheda hope when getting a goal back three minutes later from a free kick.

But, despite having Wayen Fitzgerald sent off eight minutes from time, Blues held out for their win.
