Wenger and Houllier given honorary OBEs
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger and his Liverpool counterpart Gerard Houllier have both been awarded honorary OBEs in the Queen’s Birthday Honours.
The two Frenchman have been recognised for their contributions to football, especially the influence they have had in the Premier League.
Wenger has won two Premiership titles with the Gunners, plus two FA Cups - which included the Double in 2001.
Houllier guided Liverpool to a treble of the UEFA Cup, FA Cup and Worthington Cup in 2001, with further success in the European Super Cup and Charity Shield as the Reds claimed five trophies within a seven-month spell.
