Shels see red but see off Rovers
Shelbourne 1 Shamrock Rovers 0
A Stephen Geoghegan goal has put Shels five points clear of the Eircom League though they suffered another two sendings-off in a riveting Dublin derby.
Geoghegan got the only goal four minutes before the interval when stabbing home as the Rovers defence was caught sleeping from Owen Heary's ball into their area.
Shels striker Jason Byrne was then red carded for clashing with Rovers' Richie Byrne a minute before the break while Shels boss Pat Fenlon was also sent from the dugout for protesting to referee Paul McKeon.
