Overmars on the bench due to injury

Barcelona winger Marc Overmars has been ruled out of action for practically the remainder of the season after being told he will need to take three to four weeks to recover from a hamstring injury.

The Dutchman limped off during last week’s Catalunya Cup defeat against lower division Terrassa and this latest news will come as a bitter blow for coach Radomir Antic who will need all the ammunition he can muster as the club bid to secure a UEFA Cup place after a dismal season by their standards.
