Chelsea give Reds the blues - report

Chelsea came from a goal down to claim the Premiership’s fourth Champions League place at the expense of a bitterly disappointed Liverpool at Stamford Bridge.

Manager Gerrard Houllier’s miserable day was complete when Steven Gerrard was sent off for a second yellow card after a foul on Graeme Le Saux a minute from the end.

Chelsea needed only a draw to ensure finishing above their Merseyside rivals but after poor marking allowed Sami Hyypia to head Liverpool in front after just 11 minutes.

Marcel Desailly came up with a quick equaliser and Jesper Gronkjaer rocketed in a 27th-minute winner.
