Taricco fancies Italian move
Tottenham defender Mauricio Taricco wants to finish his career in Serie A and then retire to Sardinia.
The Argentinian, 30, believes Spurs may not offer him an extension to his current contract – and he wants to establish himself in Italy, just as he feels he has done back home and in England.
“If things are going well for me at Tottenham, I may not want to leave,” he told the Evening Standard.
“But the club may not want me, in which case I would like to play in Italy.
“I proved myself in Argentina and feel I have proved I can play at the top in England – so it would be nice to test myself in Italy and see if I could do it there.
“My father is from Italy and I will live there at the end of my career, in a small village in Sardinia called Villa Simius.
“I would like to go into real estate as I already have one property in Sardinia and hope to purchase more in the future.”
