Robert ready to wing in for Magpies

Winger Laurent Robert is determined to bring a new injection of pace to Newcastle’s attack as Bobby Robson’s men look to secure their Champions League place.

The 27-year-old Frenchman was able to twist and turn again in training yesterday after recovering from the medial ligament injury he suffered during the 6-2 mauling by Manchester United, and is expected to join in with the rest of the first-team squad either today or tomorrow.
