Rooney to lead Toffees attack

Tomasz Radzinski did not even make Everton’s bench for the 168th Mersey derby, his recovery from a groin injury clearly not quick enough to be involved in the most important derby clash for many years.

Wayne Rooney and Kevin Campbell will lead the attack against a Liverpool side forced to field Igor Biscan and Djimi Traore as a makeshift central defensive partnership, with Danny Murphy returning for the Anfield side that also saw Milan Baros retained up front and El-Hadji Diouf confined to the bench.
