Edu may miss rest of season

Arsenal midfielder Edu is in danger of missing the rest of the season after joining Patrick Vieira on the sidelines with a knee injury.

Edu was in line to replace Vieira against Middlesbrough tomorrow, but sustained cartilage damage in a training ground accident this morning.

Ray Parlour will therefore step into central midfield after recovering from a hamstring injury, although Arsenal have further fitness problems.

David Seaman is ruled out of tomorrow’s game with flu, while Sol Campbell is also doubtful with a similar illness and Francis Jeffers is ruled out with a minor knee injury.
