Bosnich career on hold

Mark Bosnich’s career was still on hold today after both the Football League appeals committee and the Football Association confirmed they have yet to set dates for hearings relating to his positive drug test for cocaine.

The Australian goalkeeper, sacked by Chelsea, is appealing against the Premier League’s verdict that the termination of his contract did not represent unfair dismissal.

The Football League appeals committee, who will rule on his appeal against the Premier League’s decision, will eventually hear Bosnich’s case.

But they are already a week past their 14-day target in which to convene and have yet to finalise a date.

And the FA have still to arrange 31-year-old Bosnich’s personal disciplinary hearing, which could ban him for a year if he fails to persuade a panel that he could not explain how cocaine was found in his test.
