Ranieri missing four
Chelsea boss Claudio Ranieri is still without his injured quartet Marcel Desailly, Emmanuel Petit, Graeme Le Saux and Ed de Goey for tomorrow’s clash of the Barclaycard Premiership high flyers at Newcastle.
Centre-back Desailly is out with a bruised hip sustained on international duty with France against the Czech Republic, full-back Le Saux is still sidelined with his thigh injury, while reserve goalkeeper de Goey has a calf problem.
Midfielder Petit is back in training after his groin injury – but is not quite ready to return for the St James’ Park clash.
Provisional squad: Cudicini, Gallas, Terry, Babayaro, Gronkjaer, Lampard, Morris, Zola, Hasselbaink, Gudjohnsen, Zenden, Melchiot, Evans, de Lucas, Cole, Huth.
