Fergie not surprised by United resolve
Alex Ferguson admitted he was not surprised that Manchester United fought back to salvage a point at Bolton today.
Bolton led by a Bruno N’Gotty goal until the last minute when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer grabbed a last-gasp equaliser.
United had missed the chance to draw level on points with champions Arsenal at the top of the Barclaycard Premiership table but Ferguson was relieved that they had not left the Reebok Stadium empty handed.
Asked if he was worried that United, who played Juventus in the Champions League on Wednesday night, might not be able to force an equaliser against Sam Allardyce’s relegation-haunted battlers, Ferguson told Sky Sports News: “There is plenty of evidence over the years that we can find something when we need it. We did that again today and got a point.
“Bolton were well prepared. They were a handful but, with all the experience they’ve got in their side, they were always going to be handful.
“Today we found them as well prepared as they could be. They were looking fresh.
“We’ve played four games since they’ve played their last game and that’s a lot of football. They’ve been in Dubai sunning themselves.”
