Fergie says Sven was offered United job

Manchester United are bracing themselves for another storm of controversy over Alex Ferguson’s claims that Sven-Goran Eriksson was offered the Old Trafford manager’s job last year.

Club officials were remaining tight-lipped this morning, insisting there would be no public comment on Ferguson’s reflections, due to appear in full in an interview with the Times magazine tomorrow.
