Kachloul considers loan move

Aston Villa’s out-in-the-cold midfielder Hassan Kachloul is ready to consider a loan move if he is to continue to have no part to play in manager Graham Taylor’s plans.

The Moroccan international admitted over the weekend that he is “mystified” as to why he has been made a virtual outcast by Taylor since he returned for a second spell in charge at Villa 12 months ago.

The former Southampton player has been linked with a move to FA Cup quarter-finalists Wolves in recent weeks.

Kachloul said: “If a loan deal comes along, then I might have to look at it because, as things stand, I am not even getting the chance to put myself in the shop window should any other clubs be interested in me.

“I am very frustrated. I don’t want to be frozen out like this but I don’t think I will be in the manager’s plans.

“It makes my career very difficult but, while the transfer window is closed, it will be May before I can look at possibly getting a (permanent) move again.”

Meanwhile, the midfield duo of Moustapha Hadji and Oyvind Leonhardsen are expected to continue their comeback from injury in tonight’s reserve team outing with Blackburn Rovers at the Bescot Stadium.

The pair have been side-lined since the Christmas period with hamstring injuries but came through a full 90 minutes of a practice match with a Leicester City X1 with no ill effects.

Villa’s number two keeper Stefan Postma has had a precautionary scan to determine the extent of an ankle problem.

But Taylor still expects the Dutch player to be fit enough to take his place on the substitute’s bench for Saturday’s Premiership clash at Charlton.
