Kerr to announce squad on Friday

Brian Kerr will announce his squad for the forthcoming friendly game against Scotland at a press conference next Friday lunchtime.

The Republic last played Scotland in Lansdowne Road in May 2000, the day before the squad left for America to play in the US Nike Cup tournament.

Ireland went ahead through an own goal by Craig Burley after just three minutes, but the Scots went on to win 2-1 with goals from Don Hutchison and Barry Ferguson.
